Hi-Car values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our services through the Hi-Car Rider App, Driver App, website, or related platforms. By using Hi-Car, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

a. Personal Information

  • Name, phone number, email address
  • Home address or location preferences
  • National identification or government-issued IDs (drivers only)
  • Driver's license and Passport photo (drivers only)
  • Bank account or payment information

b. Location Data

  • Real-time GPS data when the app is active
  • Location history for ride tracking, safety, and compliance

c. Vehicle & Driver Data (Drivers Only)

  • Vehicle details (make, model, plate number)
  • EV lease or purchase plan through Evoolv
  • Driving behaviour and performance data

d. Usage Information

  • App interaction logs
  • Trip details (start/end locations, fare, duration)
  • Feedback, ratings, and reviews

e. Device Information

  • Mobile device ID, OS type, IP address
  • Crash logs, diagnostics, and performance analytics

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage user accounts
  • Match riders with drivers and facilitate trips
  • Process payments and manage installment deductions (especially for drivers using Evoolv EVs)
  • Provide in-app safety features (e.g., SOS, trip tracking)
  • Offer customer support and resolve disputes
  • Analyze platform usage to improve service delivery
  • Comply with legal obligations and government regulations

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. However, we may share information in the following cases:

  • With Drivers or Riders: When a trip is booked, both parties can view limited information (e.g., name, phone number, vehicle plate).
  • With Evoolv: Driver-related data for EV leasing or purchase compliance.
  • With Third-Party Providers: For payment processing, hosting, analytics, or identity verification services.
  • With Law Enforcement: As required by law or in the interest of public safety.
  • In Corporate Transactions: If we undergo a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

4. Your Privacy Controls

You have the right to:

  • Access and update your personal information
  • Delete or deactivate your account
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Request a copy of the data we hold about you

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard encryption and access control to protect your information. However, no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data:

  • For as long as your account is active
  • As needed to comply with financial, tax, or regulatory obligations
  • For driver contracts, lease obligations, or pending payments (especially for EV agreements)

8. International Users

If you access Hi-Car from outside your registered country, your data may be processed in that jurisdiction, and subject to its data laws. We ensure adequate data protection measures are in place for cross-border processing.

9. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. You will be notified of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the service implies acceptance of the updated policy.
